The monthly meeting was held at the Au Bon Pain restaurant on November 11th. In attendance were Mike Burgess, Joe & Janice LeBlanc, Paul Seeberg, Denise Thorpe, Gene Balinski, Nels Anderson, Mike Crawford and Doug Snook.
December 9th - BAMG Annual Holiday Party. Please plan on joining us!
Minutes of Meeting:
Steve was unable to attend the November meeting so Doug ran the meeting in his absence.
Congratulations to Eric and Ronellen on the birth of their daughter, Danielle, arriving November 1st at a healthy 7.6 pounds. Also, congratualtions to Barbara Day for being a 1st time Grandmother.
The Woburn Elks has new leadership and will not let us have our meeting there unless we pay them a 'rental fee' for the room. It was decided that we would not do that for November and that is why the meeting moved to the restaurant next door.
Needless to say, that was the main topic for discussion, especially since our Holiday Party is next month. Several people are looking into area restaurants that would be able to host our party (preferable one with a small room). We are also checking available halls that we could use and still be able to have Roche Brothers cater it. It was also suggested to hold at a member's house. (Yes, we did get a volunteer) If any member has any ideas, or knows of a place - please send out an email - using [email protected]. This way we can get the information out to all members for discussion. There is a tentative meeting scheduled to finalize the Holiday Party on the Monday evening, after Thanksgiving. (November 29th).
Until we find a new 'Home' for our monthly meetings - We should compile a list of area restaurants that we could move our meeting to each month. Please make suggestions! Write them down and bring them to the next meeting or email them to the group mailing address.
Noels has done a great job with the BAMG web site there was a beta version that was released just before our November meeting, (http://www.train-sim.com/bamg/). I hope everyone had the opportunity to view it. Doug pointed out a few minor changes that needed to be made. Discussion regarding other web-based changes will continue.
A few suggestions for upcoming excursions were made: Toad Hall Classic Sports Car Museum in Hyannis Port (http://www.toadhallcars.com) and also Brittanic Motors in Avon, MA. Let's keep these places in mind when we plan the 2005 calendar.
Club hats and shirts are for sale at all meetings and events. Hats are $15.00, polo shirts are $25.00 and sweatshirts are $25.00. If you would like to arrange a purchase at any other time or place, please contact Eric Gagnon to work out the details.
The cost of membership is $15.00 for the entire year. Checks can be made out to Boston Area MG Club, BAMG. Please pay either Mike Nadeau or our treasurer Mike Burgess.
